BoxRoute Driver — Privacy Policy
How the BoxRoute Driver app handles your account, work records, photos, location and privacy requests.
Last updated:
1. About this policy
BoxRoute Driver (the app) is a work tool for truck drivers employed by or contracted to carriers using the BoxRoute Trucking platform. BoxRoute is operated by SavX Ventures. This policy describes how information is handled in the BoxRoute Driver apps for iOS and Android.
Your carrier manages your work assignments and access to its business records. Features and information available to you depend on your account, permissions and the features you use. For the website and other BoxRoute services, see our general Privacy Policy.
2. Information we collect and handle
Account information. Your name, email address, account identifiers, carrier and role information, and credentials used to sign in. Information comes from you, your organization and linked BoxRoute account services. Signing in with an existing BoxRoute account can create a linked Driver account.
Work activity. Load assignments, pickup and delivery details, status updates, container numbers, checklists, issue reports, dispatcher messages, and expenses you enter, including category, amount, notes and dates.
Photos and delivery documents. Photos you choose to capture or attach, such as cargo and container inspections and receipts, together with proof-of-delivery documents and signatures. These records are associated with your account and the relevant work record. Granting photo permission does not upload your entire photo library. Container-number recognition processes the captured image on the device; the photo can separately be uploaded as part of your work submission.
Location and mileage. When you start mileage tracking, the app accesses location coordinates to calculate distance and miles by state on your device. With background location permission, tracking can continue while the app is not in the foreground, until you stop it. Mileage sync sends state, date and distance totals; trip mileage also includes trip/load identifiers, journey-leg totals, revisions and quality indicators. These mileage functions do not upload raw GPS coordinates. State-level mileage still reveals information about where you travelled for work.
Notifications and technical information. If notifications are enabled, the app registers a device push token, device platform and app environment with your account. Services also process technical and operational logs. If you choose to send a diagnostics email, the draft includes your account email, app version, device model, operating-system version and pending-sync count; you decide whether to send it.
3. How we use information
We use this information to authenticate you, show assignments, record pickups and deliveries, document cargo condition, support messaging with dispatch, and record expenses and mileage. Your carrier’s authorized staff use operational records to coordinate loads, review delivery documentation and handle expenses and work mileage.
Push notifications alert you to assignments and dispatcher messages. Technical information supports troubleshooting, service operation and abuse prevention. Audit records help record changes to business information.
5. Device permissions and your choices
You can change camera, photo, location and notification permissions in device settings. The app requests camera or photo access when you use the relevant capture or attachment feature. Mileage tracking requires location permission; background tracking additionally requires background permission. Stop mileage recording in the app’s mileage screen when you no longer want it to run.
Denying a permission limits its related feature. Revoking permission does not delete information already submitted. Optional Face ID or fingerprint unlock uses your device’s authentication service; the app receives an authentication result, not your biometric template.
6. Storage, retention and deletion
The app stores session information, preferences, cached work, photos and queued submissions on your device to support offline work. Session tokens use device secure storage where available. Work records, messages, expense entries and uploaded documents are held in platform databases and file storage as your carrier’s business records; support correspondence is held in our support mailbox.
Retention depends on the record and your carrier’s operational requirements. Account removal controls can mark records as deleted while retaining records and audit history. Signing out, uninstalling the app or disabling account access does not itself erase server records. Clearing local storage can remove unsynced work.
To request access, correction, deletion of personal data or deletion of your account, contact your carrier’s dispatch office, email support@boxroutetech.com, or use our account and data deletion request form. The website form requires no sign-in or app reinstall.
Include your account email, carrier and the data or account concerned. We may need to verify your identity and coordinate with your carrier to address shared business records and other people’s information. Request intake is not automatic account erasure. Processing time and any records that must remain depend on the request; contact support for the applicable retention details and status. Do not send passwords or identity documents through the public form.
7. Security
The app’s configured production API uses HTTPS. Platform controls include authenticated sessions, password hashing and role- and organization-based authorization. Keep your credentials private and protect devices used for work. These measures reduce risk but do not guarantee the security of every device, transmission or stored record.
8. Children
BoxRoute Driver is a workplace tool for licensed commercial drivers and is not directed at children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the situation.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the app’s information handling or this policy changes and show the last-updated date above.
